Week 17 is dedicated to free education - education free of charge, commercialization and privatization. During the Week of Global Action, active people in 30 countries around the Globe get together to create a new, autonomous and equal university.
To whom does the university belong; who are able to make their voices heard in the political discourse on education? The people, the staff, the administration, corporations? Who will be able to afford education if it turns into pure business? These and many other essential questions will be discussed also in Tampere 20th - 23rd April.
The programme of the Week of Action consists of activities such as panel discussions, self-organizing lectures, reading circles, performances, documentaries, film screenings, live music - and of course informal socializing in good company at the University.
The Tampere Week of Action warmly welcomes you to participate! If you weren't fluent in Finnish yet, no worries - the programme also includes events for international participants.
